If the girl is working and earning money, she has all the rights to spend the way she wants, including giving money to her parents. If she is not working, then help should be based only on humanitarian basis because we never know when one's financial situation changes. I can't understand how any girl can force her husband to spend for her parents and siblings especially when she is not earning.

i came to US in 1999.since 99 i gave my half of the savings for expenses of my father like my sister wedding ,bought a new car and others which my dad think should be in the house as his son is in US(social status).if i would be in india i would never had think of that.for me GC is freedom card to change job ,my wife can work and i live happy life.I think now it is not possible for me to work in india inspite of tremondous growth.as the expectation of the family members is too much now and because those must be the first one whom i have to explain that why i am coming back to india.so i think there is no way going back until you are forced to do that.i don't miss my family as i talk to them daily and i can ask them to travel here any time i want.its not 60s and 70s in which you have to think several times before visiting india.so my suggestion whatever the decision you make just belive in yourself.explore all the options before making any decision.

I would suggest, if we have 4-5 people per day for 31 days do the hunger strike. This will have a greater impact than just 1 day of hunger strike. The day should be strategized to match with the opening of the Congress session in 2007.

Hello 9years: Thanks for sharing the info all along. A quick question:
I got my EB2 Labor certified today, and now my lawyer is preparing EB2 140 as an interfile into my existing EB3 485.
Is this recommended or should we do regular premium 140 and request date porting once its approved?
If we do decide to do interfile now during 140 application. Is it advisable to do premium processing?

Congrats on your labor approval. As already mentioned doing premium does not hurt but it will expedite the process(to my knowledge). Talk to your attorney and company. They are the one who supposed to take decision. In my case Eb2-140 approved copy has priority date of EB3. Porting request also does not hurt and it could do better. Best of luck.

That means your son is also able to file 485, right? In that case he will not age out once an AOS is submitted for him. I am assuming your 140 will be approved before he turns 21.

Members, who were complaining about the slow processing of I-140's at TSC & NSC, now is the time to stand up and get counted. Please take the time to review the letter and then mail the DHS Form 7001 along with the letter to USCIS Ombudsman's office.

I am talking to my immigration attorney right now to get all paperwork filed concurrently.
My attorney say's EAD's are generally approved within 90 days. Will that be before my I-140 is approve or doesn't that matter?

hi i have come to the u.s. on a f2 visa and currently my spouse is doing her OPT.i applied for a driving licence in georgia and i was issued a learners permit based on my I94,visa and letter from social security office denying me a ssn.
i went to the same centre(decatur) for a road test and now they say that we cannot give you a licence because your visa says dependent for a student of wisconsin university,so you should go to wisconsin and get your licence.i went to another dmv centre and after verifying my docs. they let me take the road test and i cleared the test and they asked me to go to the counter to pay money , at that time the person in the counter again asked me for passpoert and i94 and he saw that university of wisconsin stuff on my visa and he said he will not issue a licence and i spoke to the supervisor and he says get a letter from INS ,i showed him my spouse opt card and showed him the words in the card which reads"eligible to work in u.s. upto ----").now he says that is your spouse opt card ,what autorisation do you have to stay in GA ?
has any one come across such a problem?is so kindly advice

I left my GC sponser employer 3 months ago and joined new employer on EAD. I spoke to the new company's attorney to file H1B after 2 months of joining. She said that since I have completed 6 years of my H1B so it does not matter if I am on H1B or on EAD as none of them will provide safety net if something goes wrong on 485. Suddenly, after 15 days, I got an email from my Lawyers's office saying that my new company has given permission to them to apply a H1B extn for me and asked me to send the required docs. I am not sure what prompted them to apply my H1B as I had already given up H1B thing and was happy with EAD. I dont know, it might be something to do with charging fee from my new employer or something. Bottomline is no one knows about it and may be even USCIS might not have this scenario in their rule book.
One more thing, in one of the conversations with my new attorney, she mentioned that I can still work on EAD if 485 gets denied because of AC21 reason and MTR has been sent. She said, unless, 485 is denied because of some criminal reason, u can continue working during the MTR period. so another twist??
The lawyer I am working with also said the same thing. If 485 is denied in error (whatever is the reason, AC21 or not), one can file MTR and also continue working on EAD. Since the 485 was denied in error, the employment while MTR is being filed, pending will NOT be counted as unauthorised employment. If you read RG forums, he gave exact similar opinion.

I just logged in thinking that by Monday, we July 2nd filers wud be getting receipts. But after flipping the pages back on this forum, I saw that the Monday was indeed the previous one. This is indeed misleading. After seeing the ongoing tussle between buddyinus and Srikondo, I realised Buddyinus is right. Whats wrong in whatever he's saying??? The purpose of this thread is to discuss about the so called Monday's receipts. But since that Monday is gone, looks like u r fighting over nothing. How dare u warn anybody on this thread. a. Filed - July 19 2007
b. RFE - April 2009 (Birth Certificate related for me and Medical related for my wife)
4. Perm
a. Same company. By 2011, I was promoted multiple times and currently managing multiple projects. Every H1b that was approved after 2003 clearly showed the growth and the promotion on the job title and salary.
b. Filed - Feb 9 2011 (Progressive growth within the same company, Title: Project Director)
c. Approved - Feb 15 2011
5. EB2 I140 (TSC)
a. Filed - March 9 2011, Premium Processing
b. Approved - March 21 2011 (A# and Priority Date retained)
