Do u know if its possible to schedule an earlier fingerprinting date? can we just walk to a ASC with our appointment letter and get our fingerprinting done?
I filed for AOS at the beginning of May and had fingerprints done one month later. How quickly do you want them done?

If that happens, it will be the first time in American history. That is unacceptable.
Sharply increasing health care costs continue to burden workers and businesses alike while sapping our nation�s competitive strength. In fact, more than half of the CEOs of America�s largest employers cite rising health care costs as the most significant pressure facing their companies. At the same time, workers are facing double jeopardy: a broken health care system and a deep uncertainty about how to pay for it. And as the presidential campaigns, primaries and elections continue to dominate the news, we can expect a great deal of finger-pointing for this quagmire.
As leaders of three prominent business, labor and consumer organizations, we took our shared message to Capitol Hill this week and challenged our elected leaders to put aside partisan differences and join us by pledging to create meaningful solutions to the health care challenges that burden our nation. We believe that only by working together � corporations, government, individuals and families � can we address America�s health care crisis. If our three organizations can put aside our ideological differences to create real solutions, then Congress can, too.
Our challenge stands for all who are willing to rise to it. As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

I have recently been laid off from my job, I'm thinking of pursuing a associate degree course from a nearby community college and change to F1 status. I already have a MS degree, Would it be a problem for the change of status?

I have MS+2 yrs of experience(software engineer). The company i am thinking to join is in Boston.
I am guessing boston is a highly educated town with many young graduates roaming around. Having said that, will this be an issue while we send out an ad for MS+2 yrs as there might be several responses to the ad and refuting all of them would be difficult ?
Please let me know, if I am THINKING CRAZY or this is TRUE. Another option i have is a company in chicago. Not sure where will I be better off as far as GC is concerned.
Also, anybody heard of MONIQUE KORNFELD immigration attorney based out of Newton, Massachussets ??? If so, please let me know about her expertise. I JUST can't find out how many yrs she has been practising immigration.

One of the comments on my post earlier today about the killed Border Patrol agent seemed pretty harsh - accusing most BP agents of being restrictionists with bad motives. I still think that's harsh and most Border Patrol agents are honestly out to do the necessary job of protecting our country's borders. My priority date is Jan 2006 in EB3 and I wanted to understand what happens after you file I-485. Is is all first come first after that or they will process 485based on priority date. What if I filed my 485 on july 1 and another person with an earlier priority date filed it after 6 months considering the priority dates are still current till then. Will mine be processed before the other guy.
Also, I was going to take a promotion in my company and file a new application in EB2 but with all dates being current now I am confused. I will still apply for 485 in Eb3 and get the benefits for EAD and AP but I am sure the final approval and getting of green card is going to take 5-6 years for jan 2006 eb3 dates.
My questions
Can I still change to Eb2 after filing a 485 in EB3?
Can I port the priority date from EB3 to Eb2 after eb3 140 is approved?

1) My company announced that it was acquired by another company and the deal will be closed in early 2008.
My I140 priority date is Sept 21,2007 in EB2 in Texas SC. What should I be doing assuming my I140 will be approved in 6 months time, ie March 2008.
2)Also, my company is a Federal contractor working with the Federal organisation. All employees working for this contractor will always work for this Federal organisation no matter who the contractor is.In other words, the client remains same, but contractor changes.So if this Federal organisation gives this contract to any other comapny other than I am working with, how will my I140 processing be affected.

Guys,
My company in-house lawyer says that i don't have to file for H1-b right now because I was approved for H1-b before. I only use 3 month of H1-b time and changed the status to F1. Now, the lawyer advise me that we should use all of my OPT time and file for COS for previous H1-B in June starting date of January 2009, when my OPT expires.
My question is
1) Do you think it is a good ideas or just apply April 1st 2008?
2) Does anybody else have/had a similar situation, do you guys mind sharing what you did?
I will really appreciate all you guys.

I was watching CNN and all of a sudden there was this ad by http://www.american***ker.org( I dont want to advt for them):mad:
May be this msg is old, but I saw this for the first time today and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
What was sad about the whole thing was that the message was so misleading that even the average Joe out there would blindly believe this msg. The antis clearly hid the facts and rode heavily on the unemployment wagon, eventually blaming foreign workers for all their misery.
Oh God save legal immigrants!!!
