First of all, forget about back firing, can we get 100 people to do this. IV has been trying for funds and i dont think even 10% have contributed..why would u think any one would loose a pay day? even if you take 20$/hour i.e 160$ per day. Lot of members are not ready to contribute 50 bucks :) There might be a few who can not contribute due to various reasons and i totally sympathize with them but what about the remaining?
My point is not to discourage but just for a reality check

It means USCIS has pre-adjudicated your I-485 if it was filed before october 2008.
I hope so..
But checking my July 2007 I485 online status, it says it was last updated in Dec 2007..
Shouldn't we all have got recent LUDs or RFEs if all of us were recently pre-adjugated

IV will become ready for elections when we have real candidates with real faces. I request all real candidates to publish their photos and accomplishments, their ideas for the organization; so that we can choose the best person for the job.

I feel that initiator of this thread is not trying a coup d'�tat. He is merely pointing to the fact that every organization runs by elected officials. Having a life term president and core group is only heard in autocratic systems but not in a democratic one. What are we as an organization?
Why are we afraid of discussing new ideas? Why shouldn't we open up IV organization for elections? There is nothing wrong in declaring the rules and then playing by those rules.

Do not generalise all consulting companies...At least people working in these consulting companies sponsored GC and buying house and spending their money here. Most of the fradulent GC process was done by these croocked indian companies. They exploited the EB1C system to the maximum extend. Most of the times, they are not filing the GC and keep the employees as slaves or they exploit the EB1c fo their boot lickers.
Does anyone know such a bootlicker getting EB1c based GC? I wonder what a smart aleck that guy must been. There was a piece on NYT about India's penchant with lines and cutting lines by the uppity mongers..:D

I have not seen one single person getting so many red dots for playing a devils advocate and trying to defend USCIS. :D
All of us are passionate and sometimes this passion overtakes logic. If you are fed up with USCIS, suing them or putting pressure on them through Congress/Legislature/Press are the only options.
You have seen what happened to the Ombudsman and his reports. Year over year, same findings pile up in his reports and he finally left. If someone who has internal access to USCIS workings and has a mandate to change USCIS functions to benefit us - the paying customers, could not relieve inertia of USCIS, I suspect you and I do not have much of a chance.
Courts and judges are definitely going to punish USCIS for any quantifiable losses suffered by us. If you can find any, sue them.

I think this person was indeed trying to port to EB2 some time back, but even the EB2 had a PD of Nov 2005. So even if the port succeeded, even that would not explain the out-of-turn approval.

The 'effective date' ( Oct 1, 2008 ) does not apply for applications filed after May 15, 2007. I will be glad if you can prove me wrong :)
