Sens. Schumer and Hutchison have offered the Bridge amendment. The amendment has been withdrawn but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is permanently withdrawn. According to www.shusterman.com It has a chanse to pass in September, just after the summer recess.
I believe all our efforts should be concentraited on this legislation!
Core Team, we badly need your advise, how can we help, what should we do in order to lobby this ammendment? It might be difficult because the majority of Schedule A professionals are still outside the US..... There in US we have only our lawers, who seems to me are not willing or can help us.

Unfortunately my uncle passed away yesteray and I have to travel for the funeral processings. Called USCIS just now and told them to expedite the case. CSR took all the information and told that someone will contact me within 5 business days about case. Hoepfully someone calls/emails and approves my case.

With so many of us waiting for GCs for 5/10/15 years, makes me wonder what exactly is the motivation??what benefits/advantages does the GC bring ?one major advantage is that the spouse can work (which many of us already have -thanks to july 2007). So being on EAD or Green card-how is this different from h1b?what are some things one can do on GC that they were not able to do on h1b??i am trying to motivate myself for the long wait and need to reinforce that its indeed worth it..

I just logged in thinking that by Monday, we July 2nd filers wud be getting receipts. But after flipping the pages back on this forum, I saw that the Monday was indeed the previous one. This is indeed misleading. After seeing the ongoing tussle between buddyinus and Srikondo, I realised Buddyinus is right. Whats wrong in whatever he's saying??? The purpose of this thread is to discuss about the so called Monday's receipts. But since that Monday is gone, looks like u r fighting over nothing. How dare u warn anybody on this thread. I am with Buddyinus on this. He may be a junior but u dont have any rights to warn him. Beware.

EB2 requires Masters or 5 years of experience. For those waiting in the queue for more than 5 years should automatically qualify for EB2 because they have 5 years of experience. I dont care the fine wording that says the job needs Masters or 5 years of experience. We should push lawmakers for this option to reduce the huge backlog. What do others think of this option and start a campaign for it?
Experience gained on the same position for which labor was filed, is not counted.
Logic being that it would be seen as on job training and they could have
easily hired a US citizen with less or no experience and trained him as well.
So the experience should be before joining that position as temporary worker.
Person offcourse can chose to quit the company and join another company
and file in EB2.

Look's like the DOS is trying to maintain a year difference in the priority dates for EB2-I and EB2-C.
My guess for the April 2009 Visa Bulliten is April 1st 2004 for EB2-I and April 1st 2005 for EB2-China.

I too am on H4.Same thing happened to both my husband and myself here last October.We had moved recently from Indiana and the DMV said they won't issue new licenses for both myself and my husband (it doesn't matter if u r on H1 or H4)until we give the extended I94. We had our Indiana licences also canceled .We didn't know what to do and then we enquired some of our friends and came to know that if we show our original USCIS Receipts for Extension filed they give ur license for 6 months from the USCIS Receipt Date. So we did that and got our extension until April. U have to show the Original Receipt ,No Xerox .And now we got our extension papers and reapplied for a new license and got it. May be u too can enquire about this,because I think all DMVs tend to follow similar rules.

Given that, median income in US is 50 times more than India. I thought the Indian cities are up in bubble. Next, look at agricultural land prices.
Agricultural land in Northern part of India is average $50000 - $250,000 per acre (www. 99acres.com) where in east, west and south is about $20000-$200,000. In Villages its about $15000 to $50000 per acre.
Agricultural land in US is in the range of $6000-$15000 per acre. ($12,000 per acre in NJ, $6,000 per acre in California and $8,000 per acre in Florida. From USDA website)

They are bullsxxting themselves and everyone else. I am amazed..!! These committee members dont have a clue of what they are hearing about. Mixing GCs with H1-B. This issue is always a killer and more inportantly not even related to issue at hand..!!

I don't understand how removing the country limit may have resorce implications, as how I understand is, instead of adjucation an EB-2(2008) from Mali you'll be adjucating an EB-2(2004) from India, what difference it is for them ???

People are asking for IV's position on various issues that affect them personally or asking IV to push A, B, C and D ...provisons. Everything depends on how much resources we can put to bare and collectively make an effort. This means, contributions from everyone , Phonecalls to Senators tomorrow onwards from everyone , Webfaxes from everyone , emails to all senators (from all IV members) and of course get as many members as you can to join this effort. We need overwhelming participation from each and every member if we really want to accomplish something big for everyone that takes care of all our interests.

Calls are only the start. Remember, the other side is also doing the same -sometimes outsourcing calls.
Remember we all spend hours in US consulates waiting for our turn. What is now stopping us to make a personal visit. Explaining your story in person is far more effective than a call or an email.
